Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial General Superintendent to oversee and manage multiple construction projects, trades, and job sites simultaneously. This role is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, expertise in labor and material management, and the ability to coordinate various trades efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of multiple construction sites, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate multiple trades, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, enforcing adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as needed to meet project goals.
- Monitor labor allocation and material usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and minimal waste.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to assess progress, safety, and quality control.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
- Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring field staff and tradespeople.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project expectations.
- Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement and oversee quality control programs to uphold company standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction trades, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Experience managing multiple job sites simultaneously.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate field teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and scheduling tools.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with Lean Construction principles.
- Proficiency in Procore or other construction management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
