Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Position Overview:

SkillForce is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Estimator with a robust background in heavy civil construction. If you have 5 years of estimating experience and 10 years in the industry including mass grading, highways, site civil, foundations, and utilities this is your chance to shine! Proficiency in HeavyBid, Excel, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office is a must. You'll be pivotal in delivering top-notch bids to DOTs, state/municipal agencies, and other clients. We're seeking someone with a sense of urgency, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bidding for heavy civil construction projects, focusing on site civil work (highways, foundations, utilities, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with the bid team to prepare accurate estimates and compelling proposals.
• Oversee the final assembly of estimates, ensuring high-quality submissions to owners and clients.
• Maintain and nurture relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value.
• Analyze project documents (blueprints, surveys, etc.) and provide value analysis for cost-saving solutions.
• Ensure timely bid submissions, even in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 7 years in heavy construction (site civil, highways, utilities, water plants, industrial facilities) and at least 5 years of hands-on estimating experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Software Skills: Proficient in BlueBeam, Excel, Microsoft Office; familiarity with AGTEK and HCSS is a plus.
• Bidding Experience: Prior experience submitting bids to DOTs and state/municipal entities is required.
• Other Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to handle fast-paced environments, and the drive to meet deadlines. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites is required.
