HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

Sheet Metal Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Fabrication and Installation:

  • Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal for ductwork, HVAC systems, flashing, vents, and other components.
  • Install duct systems and equipment in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools to shape, join, and secure sheet metal.

• Blueprint Reading:

  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Plan and execute tasks efficiently, ensuring alignment with design and project schedules.

• Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Inspect and repair existing HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components as needed.
  • Ensure proper system functionality through testing and adjustments.

Sheet Metal Mechanic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction, focusing on HVAC and sheet metal work.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, HVAC systems, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
