What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piping Superintendent position at Skillforce?
We are a rapidly growing Indiana based contractor and we are looking for an addition to the team! We are looking for a Piping Superintendent for our Industrial Division. The Piping Superintendent will oversee piping construction projects, ensure construction safety protocols are followed, conduct inspections, and supervise the piping team's work on a day-to-day basis. Teamwork and the ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects is a must.
Job Requirements:
- Commercial/Industrial Process Piping experience 5yrs (preferred)
- Relevant certification or training in piping or construction management
- Project Supervision 3yrs (preferred)
- Knowledge of Pipe Welding, stainless
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to be commercially insured
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

- Understanding of job cost management
- Ability to develop and manage schedules
- Able to procure materials and equipment for projects
- Understanding of billing and closeout procedures
- Proficient in excel and word computer software
- Knowledge of estimating programs such as Sage, Timberline, Toolbox
- Can work with a group or individually with minimal supervision
- Business development skill set
- Knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Ability to read bid packages and blue prints
- Good understanding of cost variables
- Able to resolve disputes covering items proposed vs change orders
