Position: Project Manager
Starting Salary: $35-$38 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety rules are followed
- Create and monitor work schedules
- Coordinate tasks and equipment
- Delegate responsibilities to crews
- Provide resources and staffing
- Develop and oversee quality standards
- Manage project budgets
- Resolve on-site conflicts
- Report project status
- Perform take-offs and prepare cost estimates
- Prepare proposals and manage bids
- Build relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Review project documents and communicate with clients
- Document safety hazards and production issues
- Apply labor standards to projects
- Gather quotes for materials and subcontracted work
- Review estimates with installers
- Follow bids through the award process
- Keep organized estimate folders
- Review customer POs or contracts
- Hold turnover meetings
- Follow up on project close-out
- Handle multiple bids simultaneously
- Be present for pre-bids, site walks, and turnovers
- Manage risk/reward for estimates
- Manage time effectively and identify cost-saving measures
Qualifications:
- 5 years in project management and estimating in heavy mechanical and industrial construction
- Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
- High school diploma
- Familiarity with construction best practices and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read and convey drawings and blueprints
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have US work authorization
