Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Technician with specialized expertise in Identiv Hirsch systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise-level security systems, with a particular focus on Identiv Hirsch access control systems. The Senior Security Technician will work closely with the IT, facilities, and security teams to ensure the highest level of operational security across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration: Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Identiv Hirsch access control systems, including card readers, controllers, door hardware, and related security components.
- System Integration: Integrate Identiv Hirsch systems with other security platforms such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and monitoring systems.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Provide expert troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for access control hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct regular maintenance checks, firmware/software upgrades, and ensure systems are operating optimally.
- Security Audits & Compliance: Perform security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, ensuring that systems are compliant with company policies and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Technical Support & Training: Offer advanced technical support to junior technicians and staff, provide training on the use and maintenance of Identiv Hirsch systems, and ensure best practices for security protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, configurations, and troubleshooting activities, ensuring proper tracking and reporting for system changes and updates.
- Customer & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations for optimizing the security infrastructure.
- Project Management: Lead or assist with large-scale security system deployment projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources as needed.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: Identiv Hirsch Certified (mandatory), with any additional security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security , Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or similar) a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of security systems, particularly Identiv Hirsch access control systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Identiv Hirsch systems, including controllers, card readers, biometric scanners, and door hardware.
- Expertise in IP-based security systems, networking protocols (TCP/IP), and related security technologies.
- Familiarity with software integration tools and database management for security systems.
- Knowledge of security-related regulations and industry best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to achieve security objectives.
- Background: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening!
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other physical security systems and technologies (CCTV, alarms, etc.)
- Project management experience, especially in leading security deployments or system upgrades.
- Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and remote monitoring.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as required for critical system troubleshooting or emergencies.
