Are you an experienced Motion Designer with a strong focus on UI animation and looking for an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge games? Skillsearch is assisting a leading game development studio in recruiting a Senior Motion Designer to craft dynamic motion designs that enhance player engagement and improve the game's user interface. The role primarily focuses on UI animation and gameplay-integrated motion design, with additional responsibilities in cinematic animation to support storytelling and immersion. There may also be opportunities to create visual effects, ensuring a cohesive and visually compelling player experience.
As a Senior Motion Designer, you will work closely with UI designers, narrative designers, artists, and engineers to develop and integrate animations seamlessly into gameplay and storytelling. You’ll report to the UX Director and be involved in all stages of development.
In your first few weeks in this role, you can expect to :
- Create engaging motion design, transitions, and in-game cinematic animations.
- Collaborate with UI designers to enhance the UI library by implementing responsive animation systems for interface components, micro-interactions, and game transitions, boosting player engagement and clarity.
- Utilise tools like Unity Animator, Cinemachine, VFX Graph / Shader Graph, and others to develop gameplay-integrated motion design and cinematic animation, while ensuring performance optimisation.
- Work with narrative designers to align animations with storytelling, art teams to maintain visual consistency, and VFX teams to integrate motion designs that enhance gameplay mechanics.
- Implement animations directly into the game engine, ensuring they align with the game’s visual style and usability standards.
