We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to manage critical financial and payroll functions while helping to foster a first-of-its-kind business model.
Position Summary:
As an Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist, you will perform a variety of administrative tasks related to financial record-keeping and employee payroll processing. You will ensure accurate and timely payments while adhering to company policies and relevant regulations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains the highest standards of confidentiality, and is trusted to deliver exceptional performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable, including monthly accruals.
- Oversee staff credit card expense reports.
- Maintain and monitor departmental budgets.
- Assist with weekly payroll processing.
- Communicate with field employees regarding timecards and payroll matters.
- Administer payroll garnishments.
- Respond to state payroll tax issues and inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, Accounting Specialist, and Payroll Specialist on various daily accounting and payroll functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of proven experience in accounting, payroll, or finance.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in processing, reporting, and managing large amounts of data.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping, data entry, verification, accounting procedures, and payroll processing.
- Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork and learning.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Paycom, or Avionté.
- Previous experience in an emerging or start-up company.
