We set new standards with our game-changing product and are a driving force within pop-culture. We are looking for a Raw Materials/Trim development Manager to join us in advancing the industry forward. 

 

Summary

 

The Raw Materials/Trim Development Manager oversees the sourcing, development, and procurement of fabrics, trims, and other raw materials critical to garment production. This role requires leadership skills, a deep understanding of textile properties and the fashion supply chain, and the ability to manage vendor relationships and cross-functional collaborations. The manager is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials, optimizing sourcing strategies, and maintaining budget adherence.

 

Responsibilities

·      Sourcing & Vendor Management and implement strategies to source high-quality fabrics, trims, and raw materials at competitive pricing.

·      Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet business needs and enhance supplier diversity.

·      Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing, terms, and minimum order quantities (MOQs).

·      Supplier compliance with quality standards, sustainability initiatives, and ethical sourcing policies.

·      Oversee the maintenance of supplier databases, including pricing, lead times, and performance tracking.

 

Sample Management & Development

·      Manage the process of receiving, organizing, and cataloging fabric and trim samples.

·      Collaborate with design and product development teams to develop innovative trims and materials.

·      Oversee the tracking of sample submissions, approvals, and timely handoffs to relevant teams.

 

Order Processing & Tracking

·      Oversee the placement and management of purchase orders for raw materials and trims.

·      Track order statuses, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving issues related to delays or discrepancies.

·      Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all orders and deliveries.

·      Work with internal teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels efficiently.

Quality Control & Testing

·      Lead fabric and trim testing processes to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.

·      Establish quality assurance protocols for incoming materials and oversee inspections for adherence to specifications.

·      Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address and resolve quality issues.

 

Data Management & Reporting

·      Oversee data accuracy and maintenance in relevant systems (e.g., PLM, ERP).

·      Analyze material usage, inventory levels, and supplier performance, providing actionable insights to improve operations.

·      Prepare and present cost analysis and budgeting reports for raw materials and trims.

·      Trend Research & Analysis

·      Monitor industry trends, technologies, and innovations in fabric and trim development.

·      Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to network with suppliers and discover new materials.

·      Advise design and production teams on emerging trends to drive innovation and differentiation in products.

 

Leadership & Team Management

·      Lead and mentor a team of raw materials assistants or coordinators, providing guidance and support.

·      Foster cross-functional collaboration with design, product development, and production teams.

·      Develop and implement training programs for team members to enhance skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Science, or a related field.

·      5 years of experience in raw materials and trims sourcing, development, or production, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

·      Strong knowledge of textile properties, garment construction, and sourcing best practices.

·      Proficiency in systems such as PLM, ERP, and Microsoft Excel.

·      Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

·      Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

·      Familiarity with sustainability practices and compliance standards in the fashion industry.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
