SKJ Facilities Management is a leading provider of cleaning services in the Southern Tier, offering permanent employment opportunities and a commitment to maintaining clean and safe environments for our customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner for one of our Horseheads locations. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of various facility areas, contributing to the overall satisfaction of our customers.
Currently seeking to fill:
- Daytime position: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 12PM (15 hrs/wk).
- Worksite is in the Horseheads Southern Tier Business Park (Holding Point). Personal transportation is required to commute to/from this location (no public transportation).
- Position involves working in an active warehouse/dock environment, so must be flexible and accommodating to customer business needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean assigned facility areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, offices, lobbies, conference rooms, warehouse floors, and stairwells.
- Perform tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass, emptying trash, dusting surfaces, polishing fixtures, sanitizing surfaces, and stocking and cleaning dispensers.
- Operate powered floor machines such as sweepers and autoscrubbers.
- Work a consistent, regular schedule to support the company's customers by creating a clean environment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Desire to perform detailed cleaning duties. Prior cleaning experience is preferred but not required. Training is provided.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs, and reach high and low during shifts.
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Compliance with safety policies and procedures, including wearing necessary PPE provided by SKJ.
- Ability to read and write in English to read work-related information and complete checklists.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
