What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cleaner position at SKJ Facilities Management?
SKJ Facilities Management has been a leading provider of cleaning services in the Southern Tier for over 25 years; offering permanent employment opportunities in a supportive and safe environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner in Elmira. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of various facility areas, contributing to the overall satisfaction of our customers.
In Elmira:
- Part-time position scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 5-9PM (16 hrs/wk). Additional hours may be available if interested.
- Interested applicants should have weekend and holiday availability.
- Worksites are located throughout the Elmira/Southport area so reliable transportation is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- You would work independently on your assigned tasks after training but are part of a team. We work together to support each other.
- You would be responsible for properly maintaining and cleaning all assigned facility areas which can include, but not limited to, restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, offices, lobbies, conference rooms, and stairwells.
- You would be responsible for competing tasks that include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass, emptying trash, dusting surfaces, polishing fixtures, sanitizing surfaces, stocking and cleaning dispensers.
- You would be asked to work a consistent, regular schedule, supporting your fellow employees as well as the company's customer by creating a clean environment.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bring honesty and integrity to the work that you do.
- Must have the desire to perform detailed cleaning duties. Prior cleaning or related experience is preferred. Training is provided.
- Must have the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and have the stamina to be able to stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs, and reach high and low during your shift.
- Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment, and tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Must comply with all proper safety policies and procedures to include wearing of necessary PPE provided by SKJ which can include disposable gloves, hat, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toe shoes.
- Must be able to read and write in English in order to read work related information and complete checklists.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
