Job Responsibilities
The Charge Nurse Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse plays a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and nursing care to residents. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Director of Nursing, Unit Managers, and Assistant Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and operating the assigned unit
- Assessing residents' conditions to implement interventions and develop Care Plans
- Recording residents' observations in PCC and following through on Care Plans
- Ensuring facility medical records policies and procedures are followed
- Making regular rounds of residents independently and with physicians
- Providing preventative, supportive, maintenance, and rehabilitative care to meet residents' physiologic and psychosocial needs
- Performing various treatments, including wound care, Foley catheter irrigations, IV therapy, and administering tube feedings, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A current state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- CPR certification
- One year of professional nursing experience in long-term care (desired but not required)
- Knowledge of applicable state nursing regulations (preferred)
