Job Description
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at SKLD Whitehall, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and customer service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized attention and care to residents, promoting their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident, with attention to activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Conduct thorough assessments of residents' needs and preferences, working closely with the charge nurse or other care planning staff.
- Assist with transfers, ambulation, and lifting, using proper body mechanics and equipment to prevent accidents.
- Perform various tasks assigned by the floor nurse, including checking vital signs, weighing residents, and applying creams/ointments.
- Collaborate with the Wound Care Nurse as directed, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Document care provided and other relevant information in PCC, following department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Certification or completion of a Michigan-approved CNA training program, with certification within 4 months of hire.
- One year of experience in long-term care, hospice, or healthcare is desired but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematics.
- Effective verbal communication skills, with dependability and good attendance.
- Able to maintain a safe environment for residents and colleagues, transporting residents and equipment as needed.
