The Skokie Park District's Earth Adventures summer camp program is seeking a Seasonal Camp Director for the Earth Adventures summer camp program located at Emily Oaks Nature Center. Campers aged 6 to 11 will journey through and explore the natural places on Earth! Campers learn about plants and animals; activities include nature games, sensory searches, discovery hikes, imaginative play, stories, songs and crafts. All campers swim twice weekly. The Director provides a safe, organized, age-appropriate camp experience for the Earth Explorers campers.

Qualifications
Must be an energetic, responsible adult at least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D). Prefer individual with degree in Education, Parks and Recreation or related field but not required for this position. Must enjoy working with school-aged children. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who enjoy nature and our outside world. Prior summer camp or outdoor recreational experience preferred. Must possess excellent leadership, supervisory, communication and presentation skills. Must be able to maintain valid CPR, AED and First Aid Certification - the District will provide certification training if needed.
The Earth Adventures Camp Director is expected to conduct and oversee the camp program in its entirety. Plans, leads and supervises camp activities for children aged 6-11. Supervises a staff of three to five program leaders, one to five C.I.T.'s (Counselors In Training) and 25-40 campers.The director will at all times perform their duties in accordance with the overall policies and procedures of Emily Oaks Nature Center and the Skokie Park District. The camp director maintains accurate records, attends meetings, attends scheduled training and performs other duties as assigned by the School-age Program Coordinator.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Camp begins Monday, June 09, 2025 through Friday, August 1, 2025. Must be available to attend two camps family nights, specific dates to be determined. Must be available to attend camp training the week of June 2, 2025, exact dates and times to be determined. Preference will be given to applicants that are available to work both sessions of camp.
Salary : $19 - $22
