Description
The Skokie Park District is seeking Performance Leaders and/or Junior Performance Leaders for the Summer On Broadway Performing Arts Camp. Performance Leaders are responsible for the supervision of the campers assigned to their camp group. They will lead campers in activities which support the theatrical arts, swimming, field trips and other organized activities. They will also serve the Summer On Broadway production in the role of stage manager or other production support as deemed necessesary. They will additionally carry out the function of bus monitor for the camp. Performance Leaders serve in roles with ages 7-17. Junior Performance Leaders generally are assigned only to ages 4-7.
- Required to attend training sessions before camp begins as well as scheduled training sessions and meetings during the camp season.
- Under the leadership of the assistant director, director, and camp supervisor, assists with the planning of activities for campers relevant to the focus of the camp.
- Assures the safety of all assigned campers, and is watchful of all other campers, including those not specifically assigned to their group.
- Responsible for alerting the assistant director, director or camp supervisor of any unsafe or suspicious situations that may arise.
- Must be available to work the entire camp session(s).
- Responsible for leading and supervising a group of campers in age-appropriate activities that relate to the focus of the camp.
- May be required to assist Junior Program Leaders and/or Behind the Scenes campers that may be assigned to their group.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Responsible for adhering and maintaining to ACA accreditation standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: Camp begins June 9, 2025 through August 1, 2025 and may also include the Intensive camp from August 4-8, 2025. Hours are generally: 8:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. but some days may vary pending camp meetings & performances. Candidate must be available to attend training sessions in the week prior to camp plus 1-2 production meetings in early June, 2025. Special accommodations for limited days off could be considered if they are approved prior to hiring. In addition, staff must attend meetings, training sessions and camp family performances as directed.
Qualifications
Junior Performance Leaders: Must be a mature, responsible youth at least 16 years of age. Prefer individual with prior experience leading youth. Prefer individual with performing arts instruction and experience in music, dance, theater or stage craft preferred.
Salary : $15 - $17
