MATERIALS PAGE (Seasonal - Summer)
Pay Grade: 1 (Non-exempt) 15 hours per week
Schedule
- The schedule is 15 hours a week and includes at least 1 weekend day.
Shelves and straightens library materials.
Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, and certifications):
- At least 16 years old
Minimum Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
- Good communication and social skills
- Ability to:
- work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and community
- shelve materials using various methods
- focus for long periods of time with attention to detail
- follow direction

- maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
Essential Functions:
- Shelves books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, and other library materials
- Performs shelf reading to ensure materials are in the proper order
- Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
Working Conditions:

- Work includes prolonged standing, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting materials that weigh up to 15 pounds, pushing full book carts that weigh up to 150 pounds, getting down on the floor, as well as climbing onto step stools to reach higher shelves.
- Ability to navigate the building, manual dexterity, and correctable vision to see small print are also required.
- Noise level is generally moderate.
- Scheduling may require availability during any library operating hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasionally when the library is closed. Although a weekly schedule is established, the needs of the library may require scheduling changes and flexibility.
- Employee required to park in designated area.
