Irrigation Technician

Location : Airway Heights, Washington

Type : Non-Exempt

Work Schedule : Full-time

Compensation : $24.15 - $24.15 / hour

Skookum is seeking a hardworking and motivated Irrigation Technician with a can-do / helpful attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than November 30, 2025.

Typical duties include but are not limited to :

Works under the direction of the Irrigation Lead

Must be proficient in irrigation system maintenance and minor installations

Responsible for irrigation start up and shut down

Irrigation troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems

Knowledge of Irrigation backflow system checks

Landscaping and turf management knowledge

Knowledge of irrigation controllers, timers, sensors

Operates various types of machinery

Serve as back up to grounds

Perform work alongside irrigation tech lead to meet the needs of the contract

Serve on call, should irrigation responsibilities require SKOOKUM to do so

May also be required to work over eight hours in a shift or weekend days for operational needs at the discretion of Management.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma / GED required

0-3 years of previous experience preferred

Combination of experience and education will be considered

Physical Requirements :

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements :

A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position
