Skookum is seeking a dedicated and reliable Electrician with a positive attitude. This worker plans, estimates and performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electric equipment and components.

Typical Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
• Replace lamps and ballasts, clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles, various switches, and other connections.
• Perform miscellaneous repairs such as re-lamping repairs, outlet repairs and/or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors, and ground fault interruptions, etc.
• Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electric Code NEC.
• Must be able to identify and install circuit conductors per NEC rules.
• Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• Keep records of maintenance, work performed, and cost of work.
• Minor electrical repairs including, but not limited to; outlet repairs and /or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors, and ground fault interruptions, etc.
• Ability to install and or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components.
• Must have the ability to distinguish between different wire colors.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician license is required.
• Minimum of at least 3 years experience with commercial electrical systems and controls.
• Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as after hours and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Position duties may require working outside in the weather. Conditions may include rain, cold and/or heat.
• Position may require working in high places such as scaffolding, ladders, man baskets, and/or cherry pickers.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
