Process Characterization Lab Technician (PCL)

Skorpios is seeking a dedicated Process Characterization Lab Technician (PCL) to join our growing team. Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis using the Hitachi 4800 SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) for cross-section process characterization and product development
• Prepare samples for SEM analysis using:
• Manual precision cleaving
• Manual polishing
• Focused Ion Beam (FIB) techniques
• Conduct Rx bar testing, including:
• Aligning probes with contact points
• Rough alignment with on-chip waveguides
• Support initial performance testing of Skyros devices, including:
• Dark current baseline measurements
• Responsivity performance testing in the presence of a laser

Requirements

• Proven ability to work independently, including weekend or off-shift hours
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to producing quality output
• Excellent work ethic with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to retain and apply on-the-job training
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Focused Ion Beam (FIB)
• Previous experience as a Semiconductor Fab Operations or Manufacturing Technician, with a strong focus on quality and precision

Work Environment

Approximately 90% of the workday is spent in a temperature-controlled cleanroom within the fab, requiring full cleanroom attire (gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and ESD equipment) with frequent gowning and de-gowning. The environment includes occasional interruptions, background noise, and auditory or visual alarms (flashing lights).
