Description
The Product Configuration Engineer is expected to continuously support all Integration Technical Leads with accurate process flow steps and process specifications. The position promotes quality, standardization, and process control, utilizing Skorpios MES (Photon). The Engineer is responsible for helping support the development of manufacturable, repeatable, and high-yielding processes for state-of-the-art, highly specialized devices in the fields of Aerospace, Defense, Bioelectronics, and High-Speed Communications. In this role, you will focus on the following:
- Work closely with integration engineers, process engineers, and process Technicians to understand specifications and deliver error-proof product flows.
- Daily support of customer projects by assisting in writing specifications, adding process routes and process operations to product flows, and ensuring accuracy of the instructions for the operation team.
- Respond to inquiries or requests from integration engineers.
- Develop and execute integration plans and schedules that demonstrate the concept and feasibility of new devices and novel technologies with established manufacturing tools and processes.
- Collaborate with Operation and Process Engineering Development organizations. Actively drive partners to record relevant process information and prevent process deviations.
- Provide a clear set of operational instructions to empower Manufacturing Technicians and help them execute successfully all process operations units. Whenever applicable, guide and assist Process Technicians through challenging operation steps.
- Provide effective pass-downs to support uninterrupted operation in the foundry.
- Using Document Control, Process Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Execution Systems, preserve working knowledge of all codes and standards applicable to process development projects.
- Assure that the manufactured products conform to specifications and application requirements defined by Integration Technical Lead Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials & Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related
- Basic understanding of algebraic concepts.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Work Environment
25% of work is performed in the Fab, which a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment that requires the use of a full-body gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and other PPE. Frequent gowning and de-gowning is required. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected.
75% of work is performed in the office area, which is a temperature-controlled environment in an open cubicle setting. Frequent interruptions and conversational noise can be expected.
Travel Requirements
Less than 10% anticipated.
