Skowhegan Savings Bank seeks an individual to join our retail lending team as a Community Banker. This is a full-time position based out of our Fairfield location.
Position Summary:
The Community Banker is responsible for the sales of deposit and loan products within an assigned service region and represents the bank in those communities. This position provides a variety of customer services; makes a variety of loans including consumer, mortgage and small business; develops new business and promotes the bank’s image. This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides professional, eager, courteous and efficient service to all customers.
- Promotes and executes a sales culture and builds relationships with new and existing customers by identifying their needs and determining the appropriate products or services.
- Responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Retail Consumer and Small Business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions meeting customer’s needs.
- Responsible for deposit and loan goals within the assigned region.
- Consistently execute on Skowhegan Savings’ referral process by introducing consumer, mortgage and business clients to other bank services for cross sell opportunities.
- Makes and services loans within prescribed lending authority.
- Responsible for ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with customers, the community and professional contacts to grow customer base and market share.
- Ensures lending compliance with all origination procedures including bank and/or regulatory procedures, policies and/or requirements.
- Responsible for consistent and timely customer/lead updates in the Synapsis CRM system.
- Attends various functions/networking opportunities to enhance the image and presence of the bank in the market.
- Provides feedback and input into the bank’s products and pricing to assure the bank is meeting customer needs.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 - 7 plus years of experience and/or training; preferred emphasis in Business, Banking, Sales or other related area.
