Position Summary
The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and managing sourcing initiatives that drive improvement and cost savings for the company.
Primary Functional Responsibilities
- Supplier and Supply Market Analysis - to conduct detailed supplier and supply market analysis looking at currency shifts and fluctuations, productivity rates, geopolitical stability, labor stability and costs, etc.
- Data Analysis - to compile and conduct in-depth data analysis on costing, materials, supplier performance, and RFQs to drive strategic procurement decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
- Cost Modeling - to construct detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of products and services. Typically, this will require supplier visits and detailed BOM analysis to create a complete understanding of the cost structure of suppliers.
- Strategic Analysis - to conduct project analysis which turns the information gathered into insightful, well-structured sourcing options and opportunities. Projects feed information in to the Skullcandy long term financial model.
- Negotiation Planning and Execution - to create detailed pre-negotiation plans, to lead and participate in prolonged negotiation sessions with suppliers and to conduct post negotiation debriefs and follow through plans.
- Sourcing - seek out potential suppliers, execute strategic sourcing process by creating and executing RFIs, RFPs, RFQs for new and existing suppliers.
- Supplier Qualification - active role on the supplier qualification team in auditing and qualifying new and existing vendors.
- Sustainability Contribution - contributes to Skullcandy's sustainability efforts and initiatives
- Supplier Performance Management - main business contact to our contract manufacturers to ensure that supplier/Skullcandy relationships and processes are properly established, communicated and managed. Monitor, report, manage and continuously improve supplier performance through vendor scorecards and constant communication via in-person meetings, phone calls, email and instant messaging with manufacturing partners.
- Cross-Functional Work - frequently collaborate with other departments within the organization such as Finance, Category, Engineering, Industrial Design and Packaging. Represent sourcing from start to finish in the commercialization process for headphones.
Required Experience & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
