Job Brief:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor looking to make a positive impact on others by joining our growing team. As a Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health counseling and support to adults and youth. This is a community-based position and is services are provided in the home or client's preference.
The Counselor facilitates individual counseling with clients each week, as well as other clinical services as needed or appropriate. The Counselor should be an excellent listener with a solid understanding of what it takes to treat or manage behavior disorders and be respectful and personable when working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Counselor Job Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counseling each week to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns and complete necessary documentation
- Conduct diagnostic Assessments, develop Treatment Plans, and perform other related administrative tasks
- Assist in client crisis intervention when appropriate
- Participate in bi-weekly clinical oversight meetings and weekly team meetings
- Responsible for documenting accurate and confidential clinical notes on all clients in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Complete coordination of care when appropriate
- Collaborate with mentors to create comprehensive care plans
- Responsible for abiding by the Code of Ethics and conducting yourself in a professional manner
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in mental health counseling
Skills and Requirements:
- Proficient in coding for accurate diagnosis and billing purposes; ability to document sound clinical notes
- Proficient in technology including Zoom, email, organizational tools; Therapy Notes experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques and interventions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Master’s degree in a related behavioral health field.
- Licensure with AZ BOARD OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH EXAMINERS preferred but not required
- Experience working in multiple settings and populations
- Must have reliable transportation and willing to travel throughout the greater Phoenix area and Gila River Indian Community to provide services (monthly gas stipend is provided)

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
