Position: Director of Purchasing – Americas Region
Location: Hialeah, Florida
A well-established, multinational manufacturing organization is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Purchasing to lead procurement operations across its North American locations. This key leadership role will oversee sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and cost optimization initiatives across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Director will be responsible for the full procurement lifecycle—from vendor selection and contract negotiation to supplier performance and logistics coordination. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring timely and cost-effective material acquisition in support of high-quality, engineered manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiation strategies to drive cost savings while maintaining supplier quality, capacity, and delivery standards.
- Develop and manage long-term supplier agreements, ensuring alignment with business goals and evolving market trends.
- Partner with engineering, supply chain, logistics, and production teams to ensure procurement supports on-time delivery and customer expectations.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for supplier base rationalization, value creation, and supply chain enhancements.
- Manage cross-category purchasing events to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with organizational objectives.
- Expand and strengthen the supplier network, encouraging competitive bidding and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) with 10 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 7 years.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within a custom manufacturing or tooling environment.
- Deep understanding of aviation tooling requirements and technical documentation (e.g., blueprints, engineering manuals, parts catalogs).
- Familiarity with metal-mechanical manufacturing and custom production scheduling.
- Proven experience with inventory systems and warehouse logistics management.
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to translate insights into procurement strategies.
- Solid understanding of planning, budgeting, and procurement operations across multiple programs or product lines.
- Exceptional negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within North America.
