Dog Bather / Apprentice

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Bather to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of pet grooming practices. As a Pet Bather, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry clients by providing them with thorough baths and grooming services in a safe and comfortable environment.

Duties

• Provide high-quality bathing services for dogs and other pets, ensuring thorough cleaning while maintaining their comfort.
• Handle pets gently and effectively, ensuring their safety throughout the bathing process.
• Maintain cleanliness in the bathing area, including washing equipment and grooming tools after each use.
• Monitor pets for any signs of distress or health issues during the bathing process and report concerns to management.
• Assist with drying, brushing, and basic grooming tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and any observations made during bathing.

Experience

• Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred but not required; however, familiarity with dog handling is a plus.
• Experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician can be beneficial.
• Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques is important for safely handling larger breeds.
• Experience in dog training or general animal care will be considered an asset.
• A background in working at kennels or similar environments is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
