This position will be for the Oklahoma City Metro Area.
Job Description:
As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for conducting field survey projects along with management of the instrument technician on-site with you. You will also oversee and train instrument technicians to collect proper data for processing. You are responsible for accurate field notes, sketches, and data uploading. You will be collaborating with a (PLS) Professional Land Surveyor, to maintain accurate records of the progress of projects and complete projects in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Walk up to 10 miles in one day while carrying equipment, if needed.
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
- Utilize necessary software and emails for job performance and communication.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Travel daily to job sites across Oklahoma as needed.
- Ensure survey crew safety.
- Ensure proper data collection for all survey types.
- Communicate directly with the PLS, Instrument Technician, and CADD Technician, to better complete various tasks and responsibilities necessary for a survey.
- Gather and submit field survey data using conventional surveying, GPS methods, and software.
- Operate and maintain survey instruments, such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Use basic survey equations to perform field calculations accurately.
- Read and process legal survey documents, construction plans, and blueprints to aid in field work.
- Have excellent communication skills with coworkers and clients.
- Effective team collaboration.
- Manage and supervise crew members.
- Must be able to handle decision making when necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
