What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Sky Transportation Services?
Driver Leadership
- Coordinate loads with Drivers/Trucks
- Responsible for power unit assigned to fleet.
- Responsible for covering outbound El Paso freight provided by load planner
- Dispatch Drivers on preplanned loads and complete all corresponding paperwork associated with load.
- Fuel and route drivers while promoting the safety of drivers.
- Pre-Plan fuel with each driver prior to leaving home terminal.
- Communicate with drivers through phone calls, people net, etc....
- Monitor Driver to ensure on-time delivery
- Support Driver with needs to ensure load is delivered safety and on time
Communication
- Communicate Driver Work Schedule to a driver and make sure drivers have a clear understanding of schedule and expectations.
- Communicate issues with supporting departments regarding breakdowns, safety issues, driver issues, etc…
- Communicate with shop and safety regarding any delay on load departure. (i.e. equipment issues, safety hold, etc…)

- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company and customer requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
