What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer position at Sky Transportation Services?
· Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
· Adheres to all safety policies and procedures set in place.
· Greets driver, lease operators or owner operators at the shop.
· Inquires as to the reason for driver, lease operators or owner operators visit.
· Takes notes with regard to driver, lease operators or owner operators vehicle issues.
· Asks follow up questions as necessary.
· Provides forms for customers to sign.
· Draws up work order with specific details.
· Assigns vehicle inspection and any work needed to technician.
· Acts as liaison between driver, lease operators or owner operators and vehicle technician.
· Provides cost estimates.
· Assists Lead technician and Shop Supervisor in analyzing nature of vehicle issues.
· Imparts information to driver, lease operators or owner operators regarding the work provided by the technician.
· Answers driver, lease operators or owner operators questions regarding condition of the vehicle, wait time, and cost.
· Explains terminology and the nature of work completed to driver, lease operators or owner operators.
· Opens, reviews, corrects and closes all repair orders daily.
· Explains invoicing details to customer.
· Answers service area phones and schedules appointments as needed.
· Maintains, organizes, orders parts and inventories the parts room.
· Maintains his or her area clean, organized and clear of any trash, parts or any other items needing to be stowed away.
· Helps maintain the shop and parts area clean, organized, clear of any trash and a keeps all tools and equipment of all types stowed away in their designated area.
· Assists in picking up parts (parts running).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
