Barista

JOB SUMMARY:

Greet and provide exceptional guest service to all guests. Responsible for preparing specialty coffee drinks, beverages and menu service in a Bistro and coffee operation. Baristas take and prepare orders. In addition to strong guest service skills, baristas need to be able to listen carefully to guest orders and prepare drinks correctly. The Willows Barista is accountable for accurately totaling food and beverage purchases, collecting payment and making change while ensuring that each guest receives superior guest service. The status for this position is on-call, 8-16 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Welcome and greet all guests according to company standards.

2. Baristas must learn recipes for Willows Bistro specialty coffee and tea drinks, as well as how to use the equipment in the Bistro, such as automated espresso machines. Choose and grind coffee beans and ability to educate guests on coffee products.

3. Serve bakery items, sandwiches and breakfast and lunch menu items.

4. Provide quality beverages consistently for all guests and prepares beverages to standards and appropriately suggests product to enhance service and meet sales goals.

5. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.

6. Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products.

7. Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with posted cleaning standards.

8. Follow cash handling procedures and cash register policies.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must have high school diploma or equivalency.

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· Previous food and beverage and/or barista experience preferred.

· Must have at least six (6) months experience in customer service, food and beverage industry or related experience.

· Must have basic math skills and the ability to make change.

· Must have superb guest service and communication skills, with a pleasant and out-going personality.

· Ability to creatively produce, display and market food items.

· Strong numerical skills and demonstrated accuracy and consistency in cash handling.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple priorities successfully.

· Ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs in a timely manner regarding both internal and external guests.

· Must have excellent attendance.

· Must be able to receive and provide direction in English.

· Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

· Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods.

· Must have good vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and flexibility.

· Must be able to perform repetitive movement of the wrists, shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers.

· Must be able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and stoop through an 8–10-hour shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Must be able to work in crowded areas containing high noise levels.

· Always remains sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.

· Ability to work in a team environment is necessary.

· Responsible in the use of potentially hazardous equipment including but not limited to; heavy equipment and sharp knives.

· Ability to work with some standard cleaning solutions and detergents, always using appropriate safety equipment and precautions.

· Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· Candidates selected for employment will be subject to Employment reference and Background check.

· Must obtain and maintain a valid Sky Ute Casino Staff license.

· Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s policies and procedures, Gaming Code regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.

· Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance.

Pay: From $11.79 per hour
