What are the responsibilities and job description for the Count Team Staff position at Sky Ute Casino Resort?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Count Department retrieves, counts, and calculates the daily revenue produced by the gaming revenue departments. It is the job of the Count Team to pull the containers, and count or verify the funds according to the regulatory requirements and procedures set by the Southern Ute Division of Gaming’s Internal Control Minimum Procedures and the Sky Ute Casino Resort.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Exchanges containers (i.e. boxes, buckets, bags and envelopes) that hold a variety of items of monetary value. These containers are swapped, filled, or emptied according to a submitted time schedule and the regulatory requirements.
2. Works in the team schedule group, who pulls and counts the full containers by machine, by hand, and/ or by visual layout (depending upon required procedure of the container). The workday begins according to the submitted schedule and is completed when the last scheduled functions are completed.
3. Participates in the removal of slot cash storage boxes, coin drop buckets, and coin drop boxes from slot machines in accordance with Casino procedures and regulations.
4. Operates counting equipment (10 key calculator, bill validator, money dual pocket counter).
5. Handles large amounts of verified and unverified cash and cash equivalents.
6. Performs kiosk count using computer equipment.
7. Rolls coin using a coin sorter.
8. Compares information contained in drop boxes to data stored on computer terminal.
9. Fills out department forms and Count documentation accurately and completely.
10. Reconciles paperwork to the system reports for cash and gaming voucher transactions.
11. Transports trolleys and coin to approved storage areas.
12. Performs daily count and recording of currency, coupons, gaming vouchers, tickets and Casino documents contained in Casino drop boxes and slot cash storage boxes.
13. Assists in table games drops, counting money, and reconciling gaming revenue.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 21 years old.
· Must have a High School diploma or equivalency.
· Cash handling experience preferred.
· Must have computer and calculator experience.
· Must have good mental math skills.
· Must be open to on-the-job training.
· Must have strong interpersonal skills.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Must have excellent attendance.
· Must be able to work in a team environment.
· Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times including personnel data and gaming regulations and compliance.
· Must always remain sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must be able to lift up to and move up to 75 pounds.
· Must be able to work in a team setting (a minimum of three people in an enclosed, locked room without windows).
· Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, twist, scoot about the knees, push, pull, and tug throughout the shift.
· Must be able to stand in an enclosed room for as many as five (5) hours.
· Must be able to handle a fishbowl type of environment as there are video cameras throughout the property and audio in both Count rooms.
· Must be able to mentally track several details at one time.
· Must be able to move large carts and or trolleys weighing up to 500 lbs. with assistance.
· Must have manual dexterity and be physically flexible.
· Must be able to see, hear, smell, and have sensitivity with touch.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.
· Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Candidate selected for employment will be subject to employment reference and background check.
· Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.
· Must obtain and maintain a Southern Ute Division of Gaming Support License.
· Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Gaming code regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
