What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Auditor position at Sky Ute Casino Resort?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Revenue Auditor is responsible for the daily auditing of revenue transaction records that are turned in to the accounting department from the Casino’s profitcenters. The auditor will be required to follow written procedures and conduct an independent and in-depth review of cash receipts, register tapes, sales records, gaming summaries, shift balancing reports, and other raw documentation submitted to accounting by the outlets. This position is a grade 6/$18.00-$21.00 per hour.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Verifies support paperwork and ensures its accuracy, reasonableness, and accountability.
2. Prepares and inputs pending journal entries by an automated accounting system.
3. Balances journal debit and credit columns, prints journal report, attaches outlet paperwork, and submits to supervisor for approval and posting.
4. Makes journal edits and corrections if necessary.
5. Conducts any research needed to resolve any discrepancies during audit, including preparation of an exception report.
6. Reports and investigates any cash shortages and overages revealed during the audit and bring them to the attention of the department manager immediately.
7. Reconciles certain general ledger accounts and assists with special accounting projects when required.
8. Adheres to the Casino’s policies and procedures as well as the minimum internal control procedures prescribed by the Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s Division of Gaming.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 21 years old.
· High School Diploma or equivalency
· Two (2) or more years of post-high school education that includes accounting courses OR two (2) or more years of related accounting experience with a solid understanding of automated double-entry accounting systems.
· Must be proficient with 10-key adding machine.
Must have computer proficiency with Excel and Word software experience.
· Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and some early morning hours.
· Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently.
· Must qualify for and maintain a Southern Ute Division of Gaming Support license.
