Surveillance Agent I

JOB SUMMARY:

The Surveillance Agent I is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for Casino customers and employees by observing, reporting, and recording gaming and non-gaming activity using surveillance equipment to abide by all procedures, gaming regulations, and policies and protect the Southern Ute tribal assets from illegal and questionable activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Observes, reports, and records all daily Casino property and gaming floor activities while observing closed circuit television monitors.

2. Maintains video/audio surveillance of gaming activities using multiple monitors. These areas include, but are not limited to, Casino Table Games, Bingo (includes Bingo card room), Cashier Cage, video slot machines, Poker, Count, sort, and money rooms, storage locations, vault, entrances, outdoor grounds, parking lots, stairs and open common areas.

3. Learns all games in use and all procedures and cheating indicators of such games.

4. Demonstrates familiarity of Slot, Cashier and Count Room functions

5. Demonstrates familiarity of surveillance equipment and its proper usage.

6. Maintains surveillance over monetary transactions and stations.

7. Documents monetary transactions for procedural inconsistencies.

8. Prepares and maintains logs of departmental activities.

9. Documents and provides evidence for use by Casino for legal purposes.

10. Maintains radio contact with Security personnel, Casino managers, and other Surveillance personnel as assigned.

11. Works within, adheres to, and contributes to an established operational chain of command.

12. Understands and complies with Surveillance Department and Casino policies and procedures.

13. Understands various department Gaming Regulations.

14. Understands and complies with the Southern Ute Gaming Code.

15. Maintains professionalism both in manner and conduct at the highest level.

16. Ensures that all equipment in Surveillance and the Casino Gaming floor is functioning properly and reports any malfunctioning equipment.

17. Responds to requests of all other departments when necessary.

18. Maintains complete confidentiality of duties, reports of complaints and investigations, and any other job-related information including Casino operations, at the highest level at all times.

19. Receives and prepares briefings for Surveillance shift changes concerning all incidents, tasks, changes, and equipment malfunctions.

20. Ensures all Surveillance documents are filled out correctly and completely.

21. Attends mandatory departmental/Casino meetings.

22. Maintains good attendance record for shift and completes shift, unless otherwise approved by Manager

23. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

· Must be at least 21 years old.

· Must be extremely detail oriented and observant.

· Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

· Must be able to read and comprehend directions and instructions.

· Must be able to write coherent reports.

· Must successfully pass test demonstrating proficiency in surveillance and camera review.

· Basic knowledge or understanding of Casino Gaming is preferred.

· Knowledge of rules of Blackjack, Three Card Poker, various Poker games, Craps, and Roulette is preferred.

· Must have basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

· Must be able to work in a restricted work environment for long periods of time.

· Must be able to communicate on a 2-way radio in a professional manner.

· Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Must have excellent attendance.

· Must be able to perform simple mathematical functions quickly, including add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurement, fractions, and decimals.

· Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including personnel data, Gaming Regulations and Compliance.

· Possesses a strong sense of customer service skills, including high integrity and respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees).

REASONING ABILITY:

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision at times and balance multiple priorities successfully.

· Must be able to deal with a wide variety of problematic situations and challenges.

· Must be able to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Must be able to lift and move up to forty (40) pounds.

· Must be able to sit for extended hours per shift with occasional standing and walking.

· Must be able to maintain visual focus on various monitors for extended periods.

· Moderate level of hand/eye coordination.

· Vision capable of discerning the different denominations of bills and chips.

· Hearing capable of discerning various communications within the command center.

· Must be able to function well under tight/heavy/variable work schedules and other stressful conditions.

· Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Must be able to work in an enclosed room.

· Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment.

· Constantly works under close surveillance cameras.

· May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrical apparatus that may cause electrical shock.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· Candidates selected for employment will be subject to Pre-employment drug test, Employment reference and Background check.

· Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.

· Must obtain and maintain a Southern Ute Division of Gaming license.

· Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Gaming Code regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
