Position Overview:

As the Chief Engineer at Sky Beach Hotel, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all hotel facilities and systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a skilled engineering team, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure the hotel remains in pristine condition, meeting both operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and safety-first culture.
• Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other critical systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of hotel systems and equipment.
• Repairs & Troubleshooting: Quickly address and resolve maintenance issues, coordinating repairs in a timely manner to minimize guest disruption.
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage the engineering budget, including repairs, upgrades, and maintenance supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local codes, regulations, and safety standards, conducting regular inspections to prevent any safety or operational hazards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure hotel facilities meet guest needs, including support for events, special requests, and seasonal demands.
• Project Management: Oversee renovations, upgrades, and special projects to enhance hotel facilities, from concept to completion.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge of hotel infrastructure systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues quickly.
• Leadership skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the hotel team.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
• A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field is preferred.
