Job Description
Skyborne Opportunity
We are looking for talented and skilled Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice to assist the licensed mechanics in their daily duties while receiving OJT and working towards their A&P rating. Your primary responsibilities will be to perform preventive maintenance on the aircraft starting with the simpler tasks and training to become more experienced and proficient with more complex tasks.
Problem-solving skills and an understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics are crucial to this role. This role also requires physical stamina and strength, as you’ll have to stand for long hours and occasionally carry heavy loads.
- Report to work at the assigned times and days.
- Follow instructions to the letter without deviation unless instructed by your supervisor.
- To maintain a record of all your training if looking to obtain you’re A&P license.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices
- Detect faults and malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
- Repair broken or faulty machine parts
- Choose appropriate parts and materials based on identified needs
- Align and calibrate machine parts
- Monitor and report on project progress to your supervisor
- Follow Company procedures, safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications
Professional requirements are as follows:
- Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role.
- Familiarity using various power and hand tools, such as hosts and grinders.
- Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills.
- A driver’s license is a plus.
- Contingent to employment, all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, along with TSA badging-if required for your role.
