Position: Director of Beverage
Location: Luxury Hotel – Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $120,000 Base Bonus Full Benefits
A flagship luxury hotel in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Beverage to oversee a high-volume, multi-outlet beverage operation projected to generate $20M in beverage sales out of $45M in total F&B revenue. This role demands a strategic leader with strong vendor relationships, deep market knowledge, and an exceptional balance of creativity and operational control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all beverage operations across multiple venues, including a high-end cocktail bar and Forbes-rated outlets
- Manage and mentor a team of beverage managers and bartenders, with a strong focus on service excellence and team training
- Oversee wine list development, spirit curation, and cocktail innovation with deep awareness of global beverage trends
- Implement and maintain rigorous cost controls, conduct bi-monthly inventories, and drive profitability
- Utilize craft batching techniques and manage high-volume service without sacrificing quality or brand integrity
- Maintain strong relationships with key vendors to secure premium products, pricing, and exclusive allocations
- Ensure all outlets meet or exceed luxury brand standards and maintain or pursue top industry awards (e.g., Forbes, Michelin, Wine Spectator)
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Extensive experience in luxury, high-volume, multi-outlet beverage operations
- Strong knowledge of LA’s beverage market and vendor landscape
- Demonstrated success in developing award-winning wine and cocktail programs
- Deep knowledge of spirits, mixology, and wine, with a luxury-focused approach
- Background in training and developing high-performing beverage teams
- Experience with inventory systems and detailed beverage cost analysis
