You will work closely with avionics, systems, and flight test teams to ensure seamless integration of radar payloads for various applications, including synthetic aperture radar (SAR), maritime surveillance, and weather detection.

About The Role
We are seeking a Radar Integration Engineer to lead the integration, testing, and optimization of advanced radar systems into our aerospace platforms. You will work closely with avionics, systems, and flight test teams to ensure seamless integration of radar payloads for various applications, including synthetic aperture radar (SAR), maritime surveillance, and weather detection.
Responsibilities
- Radar System Integration: Design and implement the integration of radar payloads onto airborne platforms, ensuring compliance with aircraft power, weight, and communication constraints.
- Hardware & Software Interface Development: Work with avionics engineers to define interfaces (power, RF, data, and control) between radar systems and onboard mission computers.
- Flight Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans for radar performance validation in both laboratory and flight test environments.
- Signal Processing & Optimization: Collaborate with radar algorithm developers to optimize signal processing techniques for real-world conditions.
- EMI/EMC & RF Performance Compliance: Ensure radar systems meet electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and RF spectrum management requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues related to radar operation, integration, and data processing.
- Regulatory & Certification Compliance: Support compliance with aerospace regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, etc.).
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to optimize radar integration with aircraft systems.
Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in radar system integration, avionics, or aerospace sensor payloads.
- Hands-on experience with RF systems, signal processing, and real-time embedded software.
- Previous work with SAR, maritime, weather, or airborne surveillance radar systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of radar system architecture, RF engineering, and digital signal processing (DSP).
- Experience with avionics buses (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, CAN bus).
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C for radar data analysis and integration.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing, RF shielding, and spectrum management.
- Understanding of flight test instrumentation, telemetry, and airborne data links.
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, R&D-focused environments.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a startup or aerospace setting is a plus.
