Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist licensed physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery. This role involves working with patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments. The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a crucial role in helping patients regain mobility and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide hands-on patient care, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols and home exercise programs.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with medical standards.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients returning home or to other care settings.
Experience
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding body mechanics and movement.
- Experience in physical therapy settings, including orthopedics, is preferred.
- Familiarity with home health practices and discharge planning processes is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical terminology to effectively communicate within the healthcare team.
- Previous experience providing patient care in both outpatient and inpatient environments is a plus.
