Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds ground based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.
The SkyGrid team is looking for a Contracts Specialist (Part-Time) to assist with the negotiation, documentation, and analysis of a broad range of contracts and vendor agreements. This role is critical for guaranteeing that the company acquires goods and services efficiently and complies with legal and ethical business standards. The Contracts Specialist will support our next generation aerospace products through the execution of licenses, NDAs, PIAs, service and partnership agreements, and vendor and customer contracts. This position will support multiple internal functions including business development, program management, information technology, human resources, and finance. The Contracts Specialist will assist the Contracts and Procurement Manager daily and report directly to the Director of Finance and Operations. This is a hybrid position located at SkyGrid headquarters in Austin, TX.
\n- Support relationships and work independently with internal and external stakeholders to execute contractual arrangements
- Assist with the development of streamlined processes for contract review and/or document creation with an eye for minimizing float time
- Review NDAs, professional services agreements, contract labor agreements, IT software license agreements and IT hardware purchase agreements, identifying risks and redlining as appropriate
- Draft amendments that address recurring contractual arrangements
- Assist with the development of standard terms and rubrics that baseline minimum company contracting standards
- Document and communicate contracting process, policies, and procedures
- Validate compliance under all contracting arrangements
- Support the development and management of a contracts renewal calendar and actively oversee renewals
- Support the development of a file management structure, migrate contracts and manage legal documents archive
- As needed, provide reports, analysis of company contracts and related market conditions
- Support exploration of sourcing alternatives
- Participate in annual business planning
- Support the SkyGrid team and external counsel and advisors in the review and/or documentation of, and the negotiation and execution of, all company contractual arrangements
- Evaluate medium to complex contractual issues/risks and develop creative solutions to mitigate such issues/risks
- Ensure SkyGrid operates in compliance with the terms of its contractual agreements
- Support document archival system to control file access
- Monitor key contract terms (e.g. auto-renewal notifications); prompt action as needed
- Assist in scaling the company by working within the Operations team to develop, implement, and continuously refine processes and procedures to drive effectiveness and efficiency
- Support the development of training materials related to contracts management process and contracts compliance
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of contracting experience including negotiating contract terms
- 2 years of working within a SaaS / Software Development company
- Able to assess risk and recommend alternatives to negotiate the best outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of contract terms and basic contract construction
- Able to effectively build and challenge arguments
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to think strategically and carry through best strategies in negotiation
- Exposure to confidentiality agreements, professional services agreements, IT vendor contracts, and IT software licenses
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
- Generalist that has had broad exposure to multiple contract types including customer, vendor, IP licenses, partnership agreements, government contracts
- 2 years of Government contracting experience
- 2 years of Aviation industry experience
- Located in Austin, TX
