The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing custom electrical cabling solutions for SkyIMD's FAA STC'd aerial imaging platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, aviation regulations, and the specific requirements of aerial imaging systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Custom Cabling:
  • Analyze the electrical and data transmission requirements of SkyIMD's aerial imaging systems.
  • Design custom cabling solutions that meet strict aviation regulations and performance standards.
  • Conduct simulations and testing to validate the design and ensure optimal performance.
  • Compliance and Certification:
  • Ensure that all cabling designs comply with FAA regulations and STC requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and certification authorities to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records for certification purposes.
  • Integration and Installation:
  • Oversee the integration of custom cabling solutions into aerial imaging platforms.
  • Coordinate with aircraft modification teams and electrical technicians for installation.
  • Conduct post-installation testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, aviation regulations, and imaging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for improving cabling designs, enhancing performance, and reducing costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and optimize system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical systems design, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, including FAA STC requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a highly regulated environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications or licenses as required.
