primary functions :
Responsible for ensuring overall compliance in the commercial loan portfolio in the areas of annual reviews, concentration, and loan participation sales. Collect, maintain, and prepare internal loan reviews, reevaluate collateral, analyze financials, and schedule site visits for required loans. Make recommendations for risk grade changes or additional loan opportunities directly to the Director of Commercial Lending. Monitor loan limits to borrowers and overall CU balances to minimize concentration mix. Make recommendations for loan participation and manage the sales of loan participations with vendor partners.
responsibilities :
- Monitor the commercial loan portfolio and manage risk exposure through recommendations for and against lending in the entirety of concentration categories.
- Keep abreast of existing and developing trends in both the economic and industrial environment as it pertains to our market and loan exposure.
- Maintain portfolio of commercial loans and complete annual reviews, renewals, and communication of new related credit requests. Work with and support the Business Deposit Specialists by referring deposit relationships with new and existing business members.
- Complete financial spreads and analyze relationship risk as needed.
- Analyze financial data related to annual reviews in partnership with commercial CUSO on loans over 500k. Recommend internal changes to improve efficiencies in the review process and generate templates for loan level appropriate risk assessment.
- Partner with Commercial Operations Supervisor on requirements for audits by NCUA, FHLB, CPA risk, and internal companies to ensure folders are compliant.
- Recommend risk ratings and pricing for each annually reviewed loan and any loans with a modification request.
- Recommend any change in terms, costs, fees, or repayment methods necessary for loans with a degrading annual review. Track and communicate any change in terms, modification requests, or payment relief requests.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures and keep up to date on regulation changes.
- Gather, review, submit and present complete loan packages to include evaluation of business and commercial real estate financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, and credit bureau information. Analysis of cash flow, ratios, and projections is expected along with active participation with the lending team in other due diligence activities.
- Track and review loan documentation for purchased loan shares as well as loan shares sold. Oversee the loan participation agreements and relationships with participation brokers. Partner with accounting and ALM analyst for pricing recommendations.
- Actively promote the credit union through community involvement and / or industry related organizations.
- Comply with all Federal regulations, Credit Union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.
