Our resort includes a boutique hotel, 17 cabins, a full-service spa, Elevations Chophouse restaurant, an amphitheater for events, and extensive outdoor amenities, including trails, wetlands, and gardens. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Head of Maintenance to join our team and ensure that our facilities and grounds meet the high standards that our guests expect.
Job Summary
The Maintenance at SKYLARANNA Resort & Spa will oversee all aspects of maintenance and facility upkeep. This role includes managing day-to-day repairs, preventive maintenance, landscaping, and coordination with vendors. The Maintenance will lead a team to ensure that our resort remains a pristine and welcoming environment for all visitors. This position is ideal for an experienced, hands-on leader who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, train, and lead the maintenance team, including groundskeepers and contractors, to ensure efficient, high-quality work.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance plan for all resort facilities, including buildings, HVAC systems, pool areas, and outdoor equipment.
- Repairs and Upkeep: Perform or supervise repairs and routine maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Grounds Management: Maintain and improve the resort’s landscaping, garden beds, and trails, working with external vendors or contractors as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Vendor Coordination: Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, manage contracts, and oversee outsourced projects.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and negotiating costs with suppliers.
- Guest Satisfaction: Quickly respond to guest-related maintenance issues and work with the hospitality team to maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a well-stocked inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and landscaping.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA) are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
