Emergency Room (ER) Nurse
The ER Nurse is a critical member of the healthcare team responsible for providing high-quality, urgent medical care to patients in the emergency department (ED). They assess, monitor, and treat patients with acute medical conditions and injuries, ensuring prompt and effective care in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage patients based on the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly.
- Perform thorough physical assessments and obtain detailed medical histories from patients.
- Provide wound care, assist with procedures, and manage trauma or critical care patients.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care. Assist with educating patients on follow-up care, preventive measures, and any necessary lifestyle adjustments.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:
Respond to medical emergencies quickly and effectively, providing advanced life support (ALS) when needed. Take swift action in the event of cardiac arrest, trauma, or other urgent health conditions.
Education and Training:
Stay updated with the latest trends, guidelines, and best practices in emergency nursing care. Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, and other training to maintain certifications and expand clinical knowledge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
