Job Requirements
Must have : Active RN license
ICU experience
Procedures performed on unit : Insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, EVD insertions
Schedule Information
Number of Beds : 16
Patient Ratios : 2 : 1, sometimes 1 : 1 or 3 : 1 depending on acuity / staffing
Scheduling requirements : Minimum weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedule is done in 4 week increments. Self-scheduling to an extent.
Manager will move shifts to balance out schedule
Floating policy : Contract labor is first to float.
Unit Specific Information
Unit staffing description : unit secretary staffed during dayshift. Occasional nurse extern working as a tech.
Type of equipment : Ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000.
Documentation system : Meditech
Dress Code : Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
Advanced skills needed
Certifications Required : ACLS, BLS
Additional Details
Patient Experience requirements : Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients / family members
