Our New Teammate
The DoIT Lead PM is a leadership position on our DoIT Program team and is 100% dedicated to DoIT-related projects, Project/PRB process improvement, and Program-related staff management. All additional DoIT dedicated PMs will report to the DoIT Lead PM, who will in turn report to the Director of the PMO. The DoIT Lead PM day to day will partner with the DoIT Program Manager and be responsible for the delivery and quality of all DoIT projects as well as being the overall steward of the DoIT Program Project process framework.
You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:
- 50% of the time on Objective 1: Project Delivery
- 25% of the time on Objective 2: Project Framework
- 15% of the time on Objective 3: Project Manager Performance Management
- 10% of the time on Objective 4: Growth & Development
Job Responsibilities – What to Expect
- Manage State and Agency implementation projects ranging from fiber optic network design/upgrades, wireless design/installs, VOIP (Unified Communications), cyber security, Microsoft Exchange/AD projects
- Work with State Engineering and Operational Resource managers to coordinate resource allocation for projects.
- Document all project artifacts in ServiceNow
- Gather and document client requirements
- Set up the project in Skyline SOAR systems
- Coordinate project work, communications, escalation, and priorities across divisions as needed for projects that require cross-divisional support
- Lead Project related client status meetings, operational transition, lessons learned, and project closeout
- Develop work breakdown structures, schedules, major milestone roadmaps, communication plans, test plans, change control plans, and overall project plans
- Perform day-to-day management of assigned projects, identify issues and risks, and escalate quickly to management when needed
- Responsible for ensuring that work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and budget
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Work with the PMO Director and Customer Program Manager to design, document, roll out, and maintain Customer Program Project Management standard delivery procedures.
- Work with direct reports to ensure optimal performance management for all Program project managers.
- Partner with the PMO Director and the Program Manager on the performance management of all program PMs
Your Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- PMI PMP Certification required
- Over 5 years of experience working in Technology Infrastructure Implementation projects (required) in a PM or Leadership role
- Over 5 years working either for or with the State of MD and/or DoIT-related projects (preferred)
