We’re looking for an installation technician who can effectively manage a schedule while staying efficient and organized. Join our hardworking team and help us deliver exceptional service and solve complex physical security problems.
You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:
- 80% of the time on Objective 1: Installing physical security solutions/systems.
- 10% of the time on Objective 2: Support Install projects.
- 5% of the time on Objective 3: Documentation and project deliverables
- 5% of the time on Objective 4: Personal technical and cultural development
Job Responsibilities - What to Expect
- Assist lead technicians on site with installation and maintenance of analog and IP-based CCTV systems, network video management software, access control systems, intercoms, and data cabling as well as related devices and equipment.
- Aim and focus cameras.
- Installation, termination, and testing of Category 5e/6 and Access Control cabling; meeting Skyline standards and in compliance with state/local codes.
- Telecom closet build-out – ladder rack, equipment racks, wire management
- Learn to program and troubleshoot CCTV and Access Control devices.
- Learn Advanced Networks – Subnets / Switches / Routers
- Wireless device configurations and installations
- Installation of conduit (EMT / PVC)
- Learn to read job-related blueprints/drawings.
- Practice workplace safety.
- Provide Daily Feedback to the team.
- Provide appropriate customer service.
- Accurately track all travel time, on-site time, and lunch/breaks
- Take pictures and compile client notes as needed
Your Knowledge & Expertise
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience working CCTV systems and/or Access Control systems.
- Certifications in Genetec, Milestone, Identicard, and/or Galaxy preferred.
- Current Maryland driver’s license.
- MSP Security license and/or DCJS Security License, preferred.
- Well-versed in installing and configuring various lockets (strikes, maglocks, IP/PoE locksets, Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.).
- Able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics as well as system architectures for multiple platforms.
- Ability to proficiently use an electrical multimeter, and basic, specialized, and powered hand tools.
- Ability to work well independently with minimal assistance and successfully delegate tasks and responsibilities to other team members.
- General knowledge and a basic understanding of networks and computer systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Visio.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
