Overnight Veterinary Assistant (Part Time)

Job Description

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Hospital, is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, team-oriented full-time Veterinary Assistant for our Ellicott City location!

Schedule: Thursday 6pm - 7am

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 / hour, competitive shift differentials!

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience, licensure and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.

Peter and Faith Lotsikas and is the realization of their united dream of providing personalized orthopedic and rehabilitation therapy for the canine companion. As a Patient Care Assistant some of your responsibilities will include assisting with physical exams on patients, preparing supplies for treatments and procedures, performing in-house lab work, and monitoring patients after surgery. Good communication skills and compassion is a must. The right candidate will be comfortable assisting with the treatments and monitoring of critically ill patients.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assisting with patient evaluation and examination
• Assisting Technicians throughout the overnight shift.
• Patient Restraint
• Equipment maintenance and sterilization
• Administration of medications and treatments
• Monitor hospitalized patients after surgery.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience
• Team oriented yet self-motivated to problem solve and think ahead
• Reliable work attendance
• Motivated by educating peers and clients
• Driven by providing excellent customer service and the best patient care possible
• Willingness to learn and grow
