WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST III

As an Operations Support Specialist III at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will be essential in providing exceptional support to our frontline staff and valued members. This multifaceted role encompasses processing electronic payments and managing account administration, ensuring that member requests-such as card orders, lost / stolen processing, and fraud claims-are handled efficiently and effectively. You will take charge of processing and balancing posting files from the Federal Reserve, validating checks from ATMs, and overseeing complex tasks related to wire requests and fraud management.

Your expertise will shine through as you tackle the unclaimed process and special accounts like Representative Payee and Estates, employing critical thinking to research unique cases. As a subject matter expert in IRAs and fiduciary accounts, your skills will facilitate seamless assistance to joint owners and trustees. This position also involves overseeing unclaimed property processes and resolving escalations, making every day an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our members' financial journeys.

You must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail when opening new accounts, processing trusts, and handling complex requests, such as deceased accounts and fiduciary obligations.

Strong analytical abilities and critical thinking skills are necessary for investigating disputed transactions and managing fraud-related tasks across various payment channels. Familiarity with regulations such as NACHA and Regulation CC will ensure compliance. Additionally, excellent communication skills are vital for interacting with members, managing escalations, and providing timely support.

The ability to multitask, work independently, and mentor others enhances team performance and boosts operational efficiency. This role requires adaptability and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accountability and respect in all interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum three (3) years experience within a financial institution (preferably with operations emphasis).
  • Working knowledge of Visa regulations, chargeback procedures, Fedline, EFT, Check21, ACH Rules and regulations regarding the electronic processing of related member transactions. (preferred).
  • Ability to independently navigate multiple internet resources / interfaces and tools in order to research, compile, and report information as required.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members and fellow employees, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, staff, and members.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Windows, spreadsheet preparation, and hands-on Internet experience
  • Excellent follow through skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize assignments and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working ability to use various systems simultaneously.
