A Cashier/Baker will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service by taking food and drink orders from guests, and then delivering those orders to the proper guests in the Gingerbread Bakery. Cashiers/Bakers must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multitask in a calm and collective manner and who will create a memorable experience for our guests in order to ensure their return. Cashiers/Bakers will assist in the preparation and merchandising of baked goods and will report to the Food and Beverage Manager.
This position requires availability on weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of in-house baked good items according to product specifications., including: decorating, frosting, rolling or scooping cookies.
- Guides each guest through the menu, offering suggestions that cater to the guests needs or that feature what we do best.
- Preparation of coffee drink items and maintenance of the coffee machines.
- Take and process guests’ orders in a timely fashion.
- Package, price and stock bakery items in both the Front of House and Back of House.
- Handle cash, credit or check transactions with guests.
- Scan goods and collect payment in a timely manner.
- Manage large groups quickly and efficiently through attentive service and precise order taking.
- Maintain sanitary and organized kitchen production area, according to guidelines established by the county and SkyPark.
- Participate in running side work throughout the shift by sweeping floors, washing dishes, moping, stocking, dusting, etc.
- Perform all other work related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of various POS systems.
- Must be able to stand on feet for at least 6 hours.
- Basic math skills.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiar with industry’s best practices.
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills.
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
- Must have and maintain a valid SB County Food Handlers Certification
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
