What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Field Services & Support Technician position at Skyport Hospitality?
SUMMARY
The primary functions of the IT Field Service and Support Technician are to: 1) install/uninstall and/or replacement of cameras, music, network equipment, digital menu boards, televisions, POS (Point of Sale) systems, laptops, PCs, and low voltage testing, termination and/or run/replace low voltage lines; 2) provide operations support for IT functions and related systems, including repairs and support of all information technology equipment; and 3) perform cable management and general preventative maintenance for all IT equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform hardware (POS, network, camera, digital displays, speakers, PC, television, etc.) installations and/or replacements
- Perform quality assurance (QA) on all hardware/software installed and/or replaced
- Deliver onsite and remote support and help desk assistance to promptly and effectively resolve technical issues
- Run, terminate, tune, and test CAT5/CAT6 cabling
- Assist with troubleshoot and resolve of network-related problems, including LAN/WAN troubleshooting, router installation, and switch configuration
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and software applications
- Utilize ticketing systems (e.g., Freshworks) to track and manage support requests
- Assist with preventative maintenance and system updates to ensure optimal performance
- Provide excellent end-user support and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving
- Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common productivity tools
- Ability and flexibility to travel
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic/entrepreneurial environment, and effectively manage multiple (changing) priorities
- Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 10-year TSA criminal background check
- Proven experience as an IT Technician, Field Service Technician, or Help Desk Support Specialist
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts, including network diagnostics and infrastructure maintenance
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux
- Hands-on experience with technical troubleshooting, hardware repair, and software support
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A , CompTIA Network , and CCNA preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Airport: This position operates in a climate-controlled international airport environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.
Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.
Corporate: Normal office environment with standard lighting and average noise levels.

Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and other computer components. Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers, and peripherals, up to 50 pounds.
