Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Teradata Lead with expertise in Teradata to Google Cloud Platform Migration to oversee the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing, ETL development, performance tuning within the Teradata ecosystem, and hands-on experience in migrating Teradata workloads to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role requires excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and drive successful cloud migration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of Teradata Data Warehousing solutions and migration strategies to Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop, optimize, and manage ETL processes using Teradata utilities such as FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, and BTEQ.
- Monitor and fine-tune Teradata SQL queries for performance improvements.
- Work closely with data architects, cloud engineers, and business analysts to define cloud migration strategies and data models.
- Manage and optimize Teradata database administration tasks, including indexing, partitioning, and statistics collection.
- Lead a team of Teradata developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance within the Teradata and Google Cloud Platform environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and ETL job failures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud migration best practices, automation strategies, and standards.
- Stay updated with the latest Teradata and Google Cloud Platform advancements and recommend improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience working with Teradata Data Warehouse solutions.
- Expertise in Teradata SQL, Query Optimization, and Performance Tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Teradata Utilities (FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, BTEQ, TPump).
- Proven experience in migrating Teradata workloads to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Proficiency in ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or DataStage (preferred).
- Strong understanding of data modeling (3NF, Dimensional, Star Schema).
- Experience in database administration, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Looker.
- Experience with Terraform, Python, or Shell scripting for automation (preferred).
